Hair of the dog and nesting birds

This morning a bluetit landed on a plastic bone that one of our dogs had left in the garden. It removed a dog hair that was attached. This reminded me that they liked soft hair for lining their nest.

Cue two willing (sort of) volunteers having their ears brushed. I place the hair onto the garden table under the same bone. Within 10 minutes this blue tit returned, transferred the clump of hair up into the cherry tree then made a few trips back to collect. Sorry for poor pics as taken from some distance and through glass.

I've learned that I still have a lot to learn...
