Worried after taming a large tree

I have my bird feeder nailed to a large sycamore tree which had become to large and blocking some light out. The birds don't nest in it but I would see them in the branches. I have decided that it needs to be tamed and knowing sycamores they will sprout again. However since I have cut it I am worry about my feathered friends. I have enclosed a before and after photo, there  is lots of cover around, they love the honey suckle which is growing on the arch. So I think I need some reassurance from my fellow bird fans that i haven't done anything which could have a detrimental affect  . (I know I should have asked before said tree go the chop)
