There’s a nest in the roof of next door neighbour. Unfortunately neighbour has 3 cats who I have seen climb trees, catch mice and last year, capture a bird.
I know the starlings will fledge near the nest but I can’t see how any can survive with the cats around. Do they have any chance?
Some cats can catch everything, but as a species, starlings are possibly/arguably less vulnerable to cats than others. More pairs of eyes usually, and feeding tends to be out in the open. They are prone to sparrowhawk predation.
