For several weeks now we keep hearing this bird, or more than one. We've compared this call to recordings and can rule out most common birds. There have been various suggestions of possible birds from friends but none match this call. We've unable to spot the bird as it seems to hide in bushes (eg rhododendrons) but sometimes it is quite close/loud. The calls are repeated at quite regular intervals.Play this audio clip
I use the freephone app BirdNET to help identify. Might be worth a try. I ran your recording against the app a few times and had suggestions of possibly a European Robin, and possibly a Dunnock.
If you can’t see the bird It might help if you give us some more details like habitats and location you were in. That can also help with identifying bird calls. Where were you when you heard the call were you in the UK or outside the UK? And what habitat where you in when you heard it. And what habitat was nearby like woodland, garden, or park for example. Where were you in when you heard it?
If you recorded it on mp3 you can upload it by pressing the landscape icon and then open files or browse and clicking on your mp3 file. But If it’s a video of the call then you would click on the landscape icon and then photo library to add it. If it’s not a long video then it will probably let you send it. If it is a long one it might be easyer to upload it to you tube then copy link and send it for us to watch.
You have to click on 'Rich formatting' otherwise it's just a blank box. I set it to load up the clip straight from my phone, but that was an hour ago and nothing happened yet. Presuming it's too big, but no prompts on the screen.
