A few years ago I saw a Crested tit perched on wire cause there was telephone lines near the path In Stroud on the way to Selsley common one of the Cotswold hills in East Gloucestershire. I didnt realise at the time that It was considered uncommon or rare here In Gloucestershire so I deleted the photo to make space cause I thought I will be able to see it again. but Iv never ever seen it again after that. Do you think its still worth submitting the unusual sighting to things like i record, i Naturalist and other things that go to research and conservation even though it’s been a few years since Iv seen it?
Ok. Thanks for your help.
Sorry Zo, there is no way that your bird would be accepted into official records without at least decent field notes made at the time of your sighting and in this day and age recorders want a photo if possible even bad ones. For 10 years I was recorder for our local group and I have a fair idea what is required to get rare sightings in the record book. Sorry but I think you would be wasting your time sending it to i naturalist or similar sites.
