Don't think so, the eyes look a bit pale. Looks more long-eared to me maybe, though that's not one I'm familiar with. Where was it? (in the world, not as in 'up a tree').

I think it might be a Long-eared Owl - possibly a youngster - it doesn't look quite Tawny shaped around the head or face

That’s what I thought about the eyes. What about beak colour? I’m in the south west on the Plymouth coast if that helps?

It might be worth sending that photo with date and time details into your County recorder as I think LEO records for your area are quite sparse

Just to let you know I got in touch with the devon county recorder and it’s possibly a scopes owl! Last recorded 1985!
