I just walked by a bold Robin on a single tree. I've heard lots of Robin's calls but never one like this. I could describe it more of a shout than anything else. I've searched the Web and apps to find something similar but to no avail. Any ideas? I'd imagine it was some sort of alarm or response to me, but I've certainly never heard a call like that and was rather surprised.
Without a recording of the call, it will be hard to establish exactly what bird it was. What I can offer is the following link, which may help you identify the bird that is emitting call/alarm. The link below gives quite a variation of calls for many species. Let us know how you get on.

It is a good source.
I'm presuming you've checked out other birds that are likely to frequent the area, like possibly dunnock or others?
The chances are you should (not necessarily will) hear it again, if you have a smart phone or tablet, they often have voice recorders installed, if not, use the video app and record it that way.

Hindsight is a wonderful tool, if only it would operate before a first time event.....
