Dead Bird (sorry)

Could be a juvenile shag?
(Was about to say razorbill until I realised I was looking at the wrong end)

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked out juvenile shags and cormorants but both seemed to have pale beaks. Perhaps it’s been discoloured from being in the sea for a while?

Hmm. I was thinking it might have lost the yellow pigment, but on reflection and looking properly at the plumage ...

there are pics of dead Manx shearwaters on the good old internet that just might match your bird. what do you think?

Ahh, yes. That’s it. Thanks for your help with this. It’s the first one I’ve seen. Hopefully, next time I see one it’ll be alive.
