spotting scope for nature trail - perfect for bird watching

Dear bird-friends,

we are looking for a fixed spotting scope for visitors of a nature trail in Austria. The devices we have on the market here are perfect for observing mountain peaks but not for birds. Does anyone know good bird watching equipment for nature trails?

Greetings from Austria

Johannes

  • I may be missing something here, but one of the biggest manufacturers of quality spotting scopes is Austrian - Swarovski Optik. Kowa are the other popular make at the top end of the market (certainly here in the UK). Leica are up there too, then there are plenty of brands less damaging to the pocket - Opticron and the RSPB's own-brand scopes for example

  • Thank you Whistling Joe, I know this makes but we need a "viewing telescope" – fixed installed for tourists of the site. Most of them are optimized for landscape viewing but not for bird watching. Meopta once developed a special scope for this – “MEOVIEW Standfernrohr 30x82”- but it seems they don’t produce it anymore.
