I took a picture of a beetle using a close-up lens last week, see below:
I zoomed in to check the focus and noticed something unusual at the top of the front leg:
They appear to be young ones hitching a ride. It was about 25mm long and I thought this might be a stag beetle but they appear to lay lava, so is this another type of beetle with it's young or something else?
