Superb shots and great video. I'm wondering if the aggressive behaviour in the video is because the other bird that arrived was a rival male? To me both birds appear to be male. Your pictures clearly show both Male and Female but to me that video seems to show two male birds? What do others think

Plover - how observant you are - you have picked up on what we all have missed - I have studied the vid again & clearly they are both male & am amazed I didn't notice before - all the excitement I suppose plus the fact that I had been observing a male & female!!! I am now kicking myself for missing that! Specsavers - here I come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wendy, whatever, you still managed to capture a super piece of natural wildlife. How fortunate you are to be able to record this footage.

I thought that the ill-tempered one was a female and the other a male :-/
