I get plenty of Red Kites flying over my house as many of you will know but rarely see a Buzzard low enough to photograph. I was quite pleased when this one flew over although I nearly fell over as it came right above me.

Buzzards may not be everyone's favourite, but I would miss them if they were to go into decline. This morning I watched a juvenile trying to alight on a young Birch tree in the garden. He/she got into a right old tangle amongst the thin branches.
