It's that time of year again, when we can rejoice in the blurry, delight at the "half out of frame", and laugh at the thoughts of us photographers trying to get decent hirundine pictures!

And my first Swallow of the year, at Lodmore on Wednesday
And the first 2 House Martins just fizzed by my window today
I put it on one of the other topics earlier, as I wasn't sure it was a sand martin. A bit blurred...
Spotted a couple more Swallows down at Ferrybridge at the weekend, and have had half a dozen Housemartins whizzing about at home, late afternoons (no nest interest though).... but then going through my Weymouth pictures from Sunday..... Ta-daaaah ... I thought I'd seen something at the time in the viewfinder
Well caught PB
Went into back garden for 20 minutes yesterday, as the Martins were fizzing about, managed a couple snaps... would probably have got a better angle from out the front, but people are a bit concerned with big lenses in built up areas lol
Another effort last night... less vertical viewing lol
Good to see the thread is ongoing.
Things here are alarmingly quiet on all fronts, the only swift seen so far was this one, and only for the morning, so could have been passing through.
As for housemartins and swallows, a similar scenario, the local nesting sites so far, alarmingly quiet.
