This Nuthatch was high up in a tree (40-50 feet) next to a footpath we walk along. It appeared to be feeding either on lichen or something in the lichen.
It's found something to eat
Further along branch, it appears to be looking for something to eat.
Got something!

More fabulous photos Bob thanks for sharing
Thanks ILR. The hares will soon be in numbers and not bothered much about an old daft bloke watching them lol. Well hopefully. Last year was great and had some lovely close encounters. Hopefully the kestrels will be back in their nesting tree this year after a gap last year too. They are still around the immediate area. My favourite animal
Bob S said: I seem to remember from googling in the past that its often the female fighting off unwanted suitors when the boxing occurs.... rather than two males.
I have read that too ...
Some great shots there Bob. Really like the Greenfinch and Dunnock, never see hares down here, maybe one day.
Cracking shots BD. I think the geese are white fronted geese which I have never seen before, their colouring looks Greylag but their beaks look very different to Greylag. Either way they are beautiful birds.
Lovely photo sets Bob, stunning animals one and all

Thanks Mr Kes, and thanks for the info too ... always willing to learn ...
Plenty to edit amd post from the last few days nice weather, but I just wanted to post this one, as I was quite pleased with it. I haven't seen a toad or a frog for many a year, and then I saw two toads together ... . I used the new 'Reflection Tool' in ACR that we spoke of. It kinda works like a polarizer filter in this situation ...
Blimey, they don’t look very happy super photo and edit
Thanks BD. I was impressed to see those geese if that is what they are. Never seen white fronted geese myself so that would be very cool if it was the case.
