Odds & Sods 2023

After yet another successful year on the Odds & Sods thread, initially started I think by Hazy, it might be wise to kickstart the 2023 thread off.

Thank you to those who have contributed to last years thread, and there has been very interesting odds and sods in "Odds & Sods 2022" that aren't enough to place into a dedicated thread, which you can look back on the following link:

What better for me, and as yet, I've not ventured far, ewe know what I mean, with this lassie on Baddesley Clinton estate yesterday....

Thanks John.....the trail cam is a good idea and something to look through over breakfast each morning rather than the boring old newspaper lol

    Newspaper!

It's been so long since I last saw one, I had to google what it was!

The day before's news, yesterday, bought today..... LOL

I'm looking at trailcams, and pooling some interesting info, but the [substantial] badger damage may be the start of a new pond, or decking, depending on how couple of life a curved balls progress........

    regards

    John

  • Lol
Och I only buy one on a Saturday John for the crossword to give my lazy brain it's weekly exercise lol

I like the sound of a new pond!!! Keep us updated ;-)

I will on whatever project is chosen.

As for crosswords, are they not replaced by Wordle!  Thinking

Not that I partake on that......

  • John, I have a trailcam out at the moment pointing towards the beach area in my pond. The trailcam is powered by an external solar powered rechargable battery. No need to put costly aa batteries in the cam any more. Will see how it does over winter but I can recharge the battery via the USB C connector if I need to. :-) Just managed to pick up on a Yellow wagtail preening after a soak in the pond. Will put the clip up on my YouTube channel later. :-)

Edit....  Video up on YouTube.  https://youtu.be/14zVf8FBZxA  a very short video.  Hope you can see the Wagtail.

    That's superb.

    Which trailcam are you using?

    regards

    John

  • Hi John,
The trailcam I use is the OS Wild 4KDS Max Wi-Fi Trail Camera and powered by the Solar Panel For OS Wild Camera Traps. I got them from the One Stop NatureShop at Burnham Deepdale near Brancaster. The night vision is great too. Hope this helps.
