Odds & Sods 2023

Yep they sure do , but only a few months ago we stood and watched 3 in a field within 20ft or so happily grazing..they clocked us and just moved a little away from us was really good seeing them so close.,,we are lucky enough to see them most of the time at our local..

    (Pardon the Scottish Accent)

Very rare to get anywhere close to the valley roe deer. I guess like lots of animals, it's how used they are to people being close. I would never get a photo of a jay in the local valley as they are off as soon as I'm anywhere near... other places like parks etc... they are more at ease.

Lovely shots ILR. I s that the Kilnsey near Skipton, as in Kilnsey Cragg and all that? And I love the Highland Cow too, they always make great photos ...

  • In reply to Bob S:

Great shots of the Roe Deer Bob. As you say they can be quite timid or not dependent on their exposure to people. We have a few down my local woods that are fed by people in mobile homes backing onto the woods, so those deer let people get quite close without running off.

Hi BD Kilnsley is close to spurn point on the Humber estuary.if you go on the internet and enter Kilnsea wetlands nature reserve. The Highland Cow was at spurn point near the Reception/Cafe. we then went to Kilnsea, we actually passed the car park for Kilnsea before we got to spurn point. Glad you liked the photos.

Ah! I see, Kilnsea. I have never been there. On the photo with the Goldfinches it says Kilnsey, so I thought it might be the one near Skipton, just down the road from Cracoe - 'Calendar Girls' country. I have only been over that way once to Whitby for 3 days - it was beautiful, but most places are when it is gloriously sunny ...

  • In reply to Billysdad:

It was my first time there BD but it won’t be the last that’s for sure. It’s true most places look nicer when it’s sunny.
