Starting off 2023 list already!  7 Winter moths - Operophtera brumata around the front door

Last years thread for newcomers can be found here https://community.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/f/all-creatures/279008/butterflies-and-moths-2022

  • Hi Cin

Love to hear all about your UK adventures on here

    Regards

Those are really really good close ups of the hummingbird Hawkmoth. I took some of a hummingbird hawkmoth in the other Butterfly’s and Moths one but it’s not as close as yours even though I got close and took a photo

  • In reply to Zo Clark:

    Thank you Zo

Hummingbird Hawkmoths are very easy to photograph as long as you have a steady hand.

  • It's not stealing my thunder - this is for everyone to post their moth and butterfly sightings from this, the current year - As I do surveys for both I tend to accumulate a lot of photos.

  • In reply to Germain:

    Hi Cin

Did not realise that you did moth surveys and it is an interesting thing to do.

Moths are hard to ID because a lot of them look so similar.

  • In reply to Germain:

I also realise that this a communal thread., So no worries there.

Wanted to be sure that I posted my photos in one size, so hence my last thread due to the fact I have not been posting photos on Forums for a while due to unforeseen circumstances to do with my tech stuff.

Hopefully I can share my own information with everyone in here as I am doing now here.

    Regards

    Kathy and Dave

I think you perhaps clearly missed the point Kathy as Germain said "this is for everyone to post their moth and butterfly sightings from this,        THE CURRENT YEAR    ...not for posting old pics on ;-)

Most folk tend to use odds and sods for such like or start their own posts ;-)
