Too small for a butterfly so a moth. I saw about three different
Butterflies but not one settled and flew past me.
Wasp or Bee ? not sure about what looks like sweetcorn on
its leg ?
Another Moth really tiny
No sweetcorn on this one
Wasp or bee ?
? Not sure what this is
It would be nice to know what this is ?
Green Bottle Fly ?
I walked all the way around the Reservoir and not one butterly
landed to have its photo taken not to worry it was a lovely sunny
day
Brilliant photos ILR, and I'm not just saying that to be nice, macro can be very challenging, so they are brilliant photos and a damned good start. When I first clicked on the first photo of the moth, it was WOW, so clear.
So keep shooting away, and keep sharing.
I'm with Zo on the beetle, a soldier beetle. The cardinal is a ruddish colour, but very similar shape and I think size.

i love robins said:Many thanks Mike for the encouragement, hopefully I might see some butterflies that are on a pit stop the next time
You're welcome.
We won't have butterflies here for a week or two, and my nearest reserve with a good butterfly (and banded damselfly) contingent, is blocked off by HS2 construction, or a ten mile detour each way, and at todays fuel prices getting ever closer to the £2/ltr.....
So keep snapping away,
