Adult foxes are quite small. When you look at the vixen, (and she's a mum currently) in my photo, and count the bricks, which are 65mm height, which makes her around 265mm, or 14 inches.
They are small, but perfectly formed and lovely creatures

It could be, along with any preconceptions we have of size.
When I watch them on the trailcam vids, they always seems quite large, until, a hedgehog comes in on the scene, and the hoggie looks large.
