Not often I get a wee hour during the week to go out but as hubby asked if a would like to...no sooner was my bag packed and we were in the car lol...weather was iffy and only had one battery charged but hey ho it was an hour out the house!!!
Upon arrival at our local Barons Haugh we were greeted by Mr &Mrs Bullie
Than it was off down the hill to the hides
Just before the 1st hide...
We could hear lots of Coots making a racket
Mating season they say!!
Almost looked empty!!!
"Am in here Linda hiding from the wind"
And off we toddled to the next hide....
Oh onion grass!!!
Lots of Wigeon??
Mr Goldeneye on his lonesome
We headed round to the 3rd hide next the the river and nearly stood on Froggie sitting on the path
Then the path....disappeared....its been corroding for a long time but now its completely gone!
This is all we saw from the 3rd hide
So heading back we were followed by a group of lollipops...or maybe the followed us all the way from my garden lol
Oh it's been a whole since I saw a Mistle Thrush
Then fluttering about was this wee yin...its there...somewhere lol
Back up the hill A Gull was harassing a Heron
And that concluded our wee hour in the fresh air.
Was nice to be out albeit rather quiet ;-)
Thanks for looking.
Stay safe.

You're welcome and I know what exactly you mean about just being outside.
We've had the rain, which has been forecast all day, but believe it or not, and I ain't complainin', its sunny!
For now.....

Great selection of birds and habitat Linda, nice to see Gadwall they have only been regular on our patch for the last 2 or 3 years. I think they are very underrated with beautiful feathering. We get a bit blasé about Bullfinch as they are often the first bird we see when drawing the curtains back in a morning. We had a short local canal walk yesterday afternoon hoping to see or hear our first Chiffchaff of the year as one had been heard the previous day. Not a sight or sound of one yesterday as it started to rain and got very windy any self respecting warbler would be wondering why it bothered.

Birding is for everyone no matter how good or bad we are at it,enjoy it while you can
Thanks Pete....Oh to open the curtains to bullfinch! That would be a lovely change to opening mine to 6 pigeons, 5 BBs, 7 Goldies, 5 Siskins and wee RRB calling Rank lol.(and then there all the tits trying to grab a space on the feeders)..Oh well hopefully you and Chris get back out today in search of that Chiffchaff if the weather allows ;-)
