Apparently Crossbill breeding times are controlled as much by state of cones as much as daylight/weather.. a couple of years ago we had youngsters first week of February

Hi again Bob, lovely bird, not seen one before, but we have some apparently close to Arne, Wareham Forest. Another place I'm going to have to go to lol!

Hi Bob,
Splendid shots of the magnificent Crossbill, never seen one close up. They are reported here in Suffolk quite regularly but I've never been in the right place at the right time to see them.

I can recommend Anglesey as a holiday break for them  but you will need to send some Choughs up here.
