I have never learned the basics

    There's basics??

  • We're back from our Christmas jaunt, so on with the washing and New Year's Eve celebrations now! I didn't manage to get to Curbar Edge to see the deer, but I did manage to call at Lyme Park in Disley in the morning of Christmas Eve, to see some of their deer. It was very cold, but a bright and sunny. I will post a few photos of the Lakes trip when I have sorted them. The weather wasn't very good, but It didn't rain all the time ... some of the time it sleeted!

Oh wow!! What beautiful pictures! You've caught the stag beautifully, and with that amazing blue sky for the backdrop... absolutely gorgeous!!! Thanks so much for sharing these with us

That's a shame you never made it to Curbar Edge, I've lots of happy memories of Curbar, along with Froggatt Edge, Big Moor and White Edge Moor.

"Bob's Retired" will correct me if I'm wrong, but the best place to see the deer around there would be White Edge Moor. If you can access White Edge trig point, the view from there, and with a good lens, is superb.

Bob S, took some excellent ones recently which he told me were, 'close to Curbar Edge, next to the old Barbrook reservoir on Big Moor'. It's not an area I know, but I would have liked to go exploring on either Christmas Day or Boxing Day, but unfortunately it rained. Never mind, another time.

    Beautiful shots BD.
  • Continuing my annoying ritual of posting an end of year compilation, this year I will blame the rain for stopping me going out walking.

Four of my favourite animals from 2022, plus the odd grey heron thrown in.
