Over the last few weeks the yellowhammers have returned to the garden in large numbers. I've not been able to count them accurately, but in one picture of them I can count over 20 at the one time. I think there are easily more than that, but they are easily spooked and keep on scattering before I can get a good picture to count them all.
There is also one that seems a lot larger than the rest, it spends a lot of time just sitting like it's stranded, but will fly off as soon it it feels threatened.

Also caught a couple of starlings having a go at each other today. It was very short lived and the one on the left flew straight up to the hanging peanut feeder, and the other went off in the huff.

Lot to learn
Five or 6 weeks ago, there was a thrush guarding the berries on the tree in front of the house. It was there for a couple of weeks, and spent much of that time sitting on the wing mirrors of ours and the neighbours cars, attacking itself in the mirrors and windows. It also caused a LOT of mess on the cars. Not sure if it was a mistle or song thrush, but I think it was a mistle thrush.
At the same time as the thrush, I saw my one and only bull finch. Not seen it again since then.
