Time to start this year's thread of odds and sods (Last year's Odds & Sods HERE)
Today a large flock of 40 or so Redwings descended on the fields around our local parkland and although they were pretty skittish and distant I hard cropped a few pics for you ....
and a blue tit landed nearby !

Early this morning, I was playing around with my Bushnell Night Vision binoculars, and captured this fox in the garden.
Apologies for the shaking footage, it was handheld and I didn't have much time to focus on the fox before it moved next door.
How antisocial of the fox......

The night before last I happened to be awake a bit before 4 am, noticed the light behind the drapes and thought I'd have a look out in hopes of seeing the full moon. No moon visible but while staring out the front window I saw a Fox trot past the end of the drive. It was a good size, possibly a male, with a large fluffy tail, and it seemed to be on a mission, heading south at a pretty good clip along the pavement (probably too intelligent to run in the road--still a bit of traffic at that hour). Only seconds after it passed, there was another Fox on the pavement on the opposite side of the road going the same direction. Was there a Fox party down toward the shops, celebrating the coming Solstice?! Wonder if they were two of the Foxes from the litter in our garden in the summer or possibly the parents. This is not a rural area, but there is quite a bit of woodland, heath and some marshy areas interspersed through the area--there are also patches of army land, some fenced off which the public cannot enter, as well as a small river, a canal and some largish gardens scattered about in an otherwise very built-up area. Fingers crossed that we have another litter this coming year.
Kind regards, Ann
Lot to learn
I'm with Gaynor--breeding Orioles?! Wonderful, and lucky you, Dave! Wonder what the babies look like...If this virus thing ever goes away I hope you'll be doing Bed and Breakfast or know where there is one nearby. Let's see, there'll be Gaynor, probably half a dozen other Forumates, and Mr GB and me.
Latest in the year I've seen a butterfly!
I have a new toy and I'm itching to use it.
I had been on about a camera beanbag rest for a little while, so Mrs PR treated me for Xmas....
With this being the 2021 thread, and there have been an incredibly good contributions of those knick knacks that probably don't require a long thread, so I've started the Odds & Sods 2022 and the link for that is HERE
