Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

Nice shots Linda. I think we all love a wagtail and a welcome although only an occasional visitor to our gardens
When I saw it I did wonder whether it was a White Wagtail which is the Continental race. Our Pied Wagtail is actually a sub-species of it. I'm not expert enough to be sure but you might find this paper HERE on the difference between Pied and White to be of interest. I believe they are trickier to distinguish in the Autumn than in Spring.
It would be good if one of our experts could give an opinion.
