Woodpeckers II

The day after we had the GSW & juvenile and Green Woodpecker around the garden the GSW and juvenile returned as they have done right up to yesterday.

Then the adult started mimicking the green woodpecker on the lawn.

Then onto the posts supporting the raspberry beds

They left the garden about 2.00pm and this beastie arrived about 5.00pm

  • I think I'm going to have to come and commandeer your garden Tony!!
Lovely series of pics again, and lovely visitors!
  • Lovely visitors to get. I've not seen a Woodpecker or Sparrowhawk since before the lockdown started.

  • Cracking photos Tony, those posts are just made for the two of them to perch.

    Lot to learn

  • Thank you all, the adult GSW was on the sunflower seed feeder a little while ago, just before the drizzle started. We unfortunately spooked the Sparrowhawk as it flew up over the hedge into the garden yesterday chasing little LBJ which I think lived to tell the tale.
It'll be a nice trip for you PB, up the A303 to the M3 around the M25 and up the M11, I can put a tent in the garden for you!
The posts will be staying gaynorsl but all the rotting black fence/posts will be gone in a few weeks as it all needs taking down before it falls down.

I'll find a more scenicy, less concretey route, thanks Tony.... and I don't do tents.... much to Mrs PB's chagrin!! And the 303 is a nightmare lol
