No interest I'm afraid - UPDATE special visitor

Brother came to visit so got out the instrument

 Who me?     No chance

 Could be interesting

 Doesn't smell like food

Maybe if I sit and look pretty she will get the message

So sorry folk, no uke today

Titch stood on top of door in shed and took some food from me and flew outside - I followed with more for him just in time to see him feed a youngster, he came back to me and took more food and back to babe with another feed - wow this is the first youngster I have seen him with, wonderful.    Hopefully will manage to get a photo or two for you to see.

  • It was me Gaynor failed to grasp that your new hardware was a PC, not another laptop ... hope you get it sorted Monday, may only need restoring to factory settings then start again but suppliers should thoroughly test it to make sure no underlying faults ... good job you still have your Win7 laptop as backup though I know that was causing you grief!
  • Good luck with the PC sorting Gaynor; I uploaded latest Win.10 browser and it stuffed up part of the Windows mail; sent items end up in Junk..... Microsoft glitch not mine ! I ordered a new computer to replace Mike's Win.7 and it came yesterday so had to set it up for him and transfer stuff from his old Win7 and save it on the new one. Also been clearing out two huge external hard-drives and incorporating them on to a new one and then taking the older hard drives back to factory settings; only done one so far but I'm needing a break as I'm all floppy disked out LOL I need a new computer but have put it off for a while as I can't bear the thought of setting up another one at the moment and I'm still deciding whether to kick Microsoft into touch and going iMac for laptop. Right now.... I'm off to soak my frazzled self in a bubble bath ha ha ! Do hope you get things sorted Gaynor, when Microsoft had that big glitch a couple of years ago it was fixed via 4 appointments online and remote access assistance. It worked well.

  • Maybe there would be more interest in a banjo ukulele, our daughter recently got a retired Greyhound who is ok with my uke but gets more interested in the banjo !!
  • Gaynor, Sorry to hear you have computer problems. Hope you can sort it soon. I'd be up the proverbial without a paddle if I didn't have Mr GB to sort things for us! (Not that I'd actually submerge the laptop, but I trust you know what I mean--lol!)

Pete, nice to hear from you. Hope you are well. Love a banjo (despite all the jokes about them!) and a uke--the more the merrier, and Hazel says she has a sturdy balcony...

  • Hi all,    I messed around all day yesterday with computer, it came on by 9.30p.m.    I tried it again this morning and it has been perfect.   Had a long, long e-mail from IT Buffs telling me what to do to change settings, I said it was OK but they could have it back if it fails again.     Lovely to hear from you again Pete, your banjo ukulele will be on hire for our orchestra at Hazy and Mike's new abode:-)   and the Greyhound is one of my favourite dogs, so big and placid, gorgeous dogs, we used to have a lurcher or two around back in the day.

Hazy - your brain must be huge to cope with all that, I am in awe.   I managed to get this back on but only with so much trial and error.

Wendy I will do your head in again, the laptop is now a Windows 10 to match the PC!!!!!

Couple of pics to change the subject:- that is if I manage to find them!!

    The re-sizing needs attention:-)

Hee hee, at least it worked.

    I've cracked up you know:-

Glass of red wine needed now:-)

    Gaynor

  • Oh dear Gaynor, you did make me laugh! Sooo, is the laptop any better for being Win 10 now? Hope & pray it doesn't give you grief!
Lovely pics, got my magnifying glass out to appreciate them! Rofl
  • Lol Gaynor, great to see the lovely pics of the spadger group and the GT; looks so inviting in your garden for them.
Also glad your computer is working again and can understand the total frustration of it all; mine still has a glitch with gmail v win,10 mail putting sent items into junk, etc, think the two companies are probably blaming one another for the software bug so not sure it will get sorted very soon ! ........ meanwhile, I have a cracked bathroom tile being replaced (you don't want to hear the sound as they bash out the old one in my beautiful new bathroom ! ) and also have a plumber arriving this morning to take 5 radiators off the wall (these are the very tall modern ones) so we can get the hallway and one wall in the lounge papered - eventually ! In-between that a couple of jobs on snagging list with door that wouldn't close properly and I have to have granite specialist when they can arrange it to buff the island worktop as there was a scratch on it (probably from workers dumping their tool bags down ! ) ....... so I started early this morning with a nice shower, washed and blow dried my hair so at least I start the day off feeling good LOL Hate to think at the end of the day how I will look ha ha .... onwards and upwards as they say, we'll get there eventually. At least we'll be living on carpets by the end of the week :)

  • Gaynor, my you gave me a good laugh! Hope all the IT problems are now sorted and you can carry on. Me thinks Wendy was a bit bad, your photos were not that small!
Hazel, you will be looking lovely for all the workmen coming to the house!! Hope all goes well.
  • Shhhh all is peace and quiet at the moment. I went out this morning and saw a butterfly I didn't recognise, didn't have camera of course. So left Sue at home and went back again this afternoon, I'm almost sure I saw it as it was flying away, followed but it hopped, sorry flew over the wall into the cows field. Will try again tomorrow. Took a few bees and insects but nothing spectacular, might do me good to try and resize them though - just for Wendy to not need her glasses!! It was so easy with Windows Live Gallery. Anyway I agree with you Hazy, Win 10 and Gmail are having an argument, and we are better off ignoring them!! Damn sure these computers are alive and laughing at us:-) Good luck with the house alterations/repairs etc Hazy, you have more energy than me, did you ever think of a boat on a nearbye canal?:-)) Catlady it would seem your eyes are good, !! I can't promise to be sorted but life throws these things at you just to prove it can!!!
  • Wendy are you sure you want to know about my laptop...……..well that was what started it all. It was win 7 and out of protection or whatever you call it. In the end I decided to buy a win 10 and put it on, easy enough, it came and started downloading. Then I had to "burn a disc"! or something that I couldn't do so got my money back and decided to buy another laptop with win 10 installed. The person I had bought it from advised me that McAfee wasn't a good idea so I thought I would try and take it off the PC and that probably messed up the machine. Apparently Win Defender is enough. Don't know and it is still on here but as I say it is all working fine at the moment. The laptop also is doing well you will be glad to know. !!!!! lol 'cause if you don't you would be very unhappy:-)
