Starling invasion

We erected a feeding station last summer (one of those poles with four feeders). We had seed, fat balls and suet blocks and attracted a lot of sparrows, easily because for many years they’ve hung out in the small tree next to the feeders. Round about December we started putting out fat pellets, which are so desirable nothing else is getting eaten. HOWEVER, this attracted a few starlings, no problem, nice to see a different bird. But now we’re inundated! About 60 starlings swooped down yesterday, it was carnage! Obviously don’t want to stop pellets in winter but how do we stop them coming in summer - feel so bad just removing pellets. Guess I just want confirmation that that’ll be ok and what month should we do that?
