Starting new thread with this tiny speedy critter (best viewed full screen) in real time, what moves this fast?
Be two snails racing up the wall next! Lol

More bee activity, a red tailed bumblebee, particularly now on the juvenile erysimum plants, where they're staying for a good while, so there must be some food for them.
And off to investigate another juvenile erysimum head.

Some more, though not quite so good, a trial with the 600mm lens and sitting down, which gave me the angle I wanted, but not quite the clarity, though I might have done if I'd used a tripod.
Spotted yesterday on the Iris stems in the pond. The 'square' clump is around 7-8mm across. The only thing I can think of is Iris Sawfly?

No idea on those eggs ... but they are a nice colour!
From a walk in some local woods sometime last week. It's not a place I go to for birds but if you only have a couple of hours it is good for insects, like this Common Carder on bramble
I'm beginning to spot a lot more cuckoo bees now I know roughly what I'm looking for. This is one of several Forest Cuckoo Bees (m) I saw in a area of thistles
A Red-and-black Froghopper
With it being a bit dull and cool, the insects have been largely, avoiding the garden, however, there was one, yes, just the one, white tailed bumblebee on the erysimum later yesterday afternoon after it had warmed up a little.
One that won't sting me...my first ever hoverfly...they do like to hang out at the pond
