Decided to go up to Lackford Lakes the other week, it wasn't raining but still grey and gloomy. About 500mts down the road spotted this one in a small tree by the road, no one behind so managed to pull over and open the window. A I poked the lens out the window it looked down and flew off after this one shot.
Then about 2mls further on spotted this one on a telegraph pole, a car behind so had to carry on and pull over and turn around a few hundred meters up the road. Still pole sitting so took these through the windscreen.
Another 2 mls on and another Kestrel on a telegraph pole but as I stopped it flew off as did the Buzzard about 4 poles further up the road. When I drove home a few hours later again another 3 Kestrels on different telegraph poles but too busy to stop.
That is a lot of Kezzies and good to get photos of them. Years ago, you couldn't get in a car without seeing them sitting on telegraph poles or hunting over the grass verge as you drove by. Sadly, it's a much rarer occurrence nowadays, although like Gaynor I seem to see more Buzzards now, instead, although never where I can stop and photograph them
