Starting with a first for me ... Sparrowhawk in neighbour's garden here in quarry, only ever seen a seemingly lost youngster many years ago!
Grabbed ID vid footage through d/glazed door, then battery died & by time I'd replaced it to go outside for better res a delivery driver stopped next door & frightened the bird off!! grrrrrr
Hope it's a one-off for the sake of my Spadger horde!

Back up to the local peaks this morning. Lots of bellowing and coming across the red deer all over the place. Still a few single does and young ones around too, not been rounded up yet I guess, not sure how it works...

We went to Abberton at the weekend, where I got these beauties:
There's no such thing as 'only' a little egret.
Young gulls are beautifully marked but few are as pretty as the black-headed gull.
