Garden Tits

This year coal tits seem to have pretty well totally displaced blue tits from my Chiswick garden. Nothing has changed in the way that I feed the birds. The great tits are still around as are long tailed tits, robins, dunnock, blackbirds, magpies, wood pigeons together with the occasional jay and great spotted woodpecker.  It is just the blue tits that have gone and coal tits, which were rare until this year, that have taken their place.

  • Gosh, that's odd, I wonder if anyone else has noticed this in their garden. I almost never see Coal tits so it's good news for them if they are making a come-back.

    Best wishes

  • Can't comment as we moved this year, but previously we saw birds disappear for years (Nuthatches, for example), only to return and reinhabit the garden once more.

Anyone know of something in particular that's impacting Blue Tits in the UK?

    Best regards -
