Visit to N Norfolk - Titchwell

  • Titchwell rarely disappoints although I've only been there twice. Nice shots of the waders especially the Curlews.

  • I agree with you Tony, rarely disappoints and can throw up some interesting sightings, like 30+ Marsh Harriers coming into roost. I love waders but they can be testing to ID depending on time of year. As with Curlew vs Whimbrel, we saw Curlew at every site we visited on our last trip end of Oct. I really like Titchwell with the walk down to the beach and the possibility of sea ducks but I do prefer Minsmere, greater variety of habitats. Luckily both about a 90min drive from home.

  • Great pics Tony, you have taken some lovely close up shots so we can see the birds in detail. I get both the Curlew and Redshank down on my local beach but even if I inched out on my belly I wouldn't get as close as you have before they took flight.

    Lot to learn
