Sandpipers

We have just spent a few nights up on the North Norfolk coast visiting Cley Marshes, Titchwell and Holme Bird Observatory.

Lots to see at Titchwell including Common, Wood and Purple Sandpipers. Unfortunately we missed the Common & Wood Sands but did mange to see the Purple at a distance mixed in with Dunlin, Ringed Plover and Bearded Tits in the back ground, oh and a Water Rail.

Record shots of Purple Sandpiper

The beards were scuttling at the base of the reeds in the same area, I think juveniles?

And a distant water rail preening.

Apologies for the poor pictures but the distance was really pushing my little Panasonic.
