TeeJay said:Nice. Female Black-tailed Skimmer for the first one I think. Agree with Common Blue Damselfly. Doesn't have the "Coenagrion spur" that the other blues have. Don't ask. LOL
Thank you Tony.
I did scour the book and Google....
Folks, a fabulous collection of dragons & damsels one and all.

I would never have seen this Common Darter in the grass if it hadn't moved. It's well-camouflaged clinging to … vetch, is it.
Impossible to get a full body shot of it down in the grass, but it let me get some good close-ups and I like the colour of the flower reflecting in the wings
And this is a shot I've wanted to get … a real close-up of one of the best and most colourful pairs of eyes in the business.

Lot to learn
Absolutely fabulous photos folks, and the detail is brilliant.
Here is my meagre contribution of banded damsels, on a recent visit to Middleton Lakes.
And a futile attempt at catching one in flight with those banded wings open...

Beautifully sharp photos, Mike. Banded Demoiselles are gorgeous little insects and you've captured them really well
