Goosanders on the Tyne - 22 February 2019

An hour by the River Tyne at Hexham while Mrs Bob was at Pilates was spent by watching the Goosander fishing and bathing. Also a Cormorant and drake Mallard flew in.

  • Lovely pics Bob. I saw a number of Goosanders today from the hide at the Spinnies, no chance of getting photos but I had a good look through a scope kindly set up by other people at the hide.

    Lot to learn

  • Cracking set, Bob. The male Goosanders are very smart but I prefer the females with their mullet style hair do.

  • Spring is definitely in the air when you see all the birds in their glorious breeding plumage/colours and full of life, lovely set - always love the whacky hair-do of the female !
