LOL Nigel. Doesn't mean that I'm right though. Roy W who is an expert will probably come along and blow me out of the water.

I only had a bit of time so went to one of the local parks today which is a bit of hotspot to see what was around. No dragons yet, but plenty of Large Red Damselflies enjoying the sun.
Beautiful colours with red, black and bronze
And those amazing colourful eyes - something that's very difficult to see in the wild, without some sort of magnification - like a macro lens :)
This is still the only species I've seen so far this year but others can't be too far behind now.

Lovely pictures! Unfortunately we don't have any here yet. Shouldn't be long, especially with the recent weather, so fingers crossed!
Great to at last add to a thread,
A Damselfly I believe
Really chuffed with this little beaut, is it called a Bee something dragonfly?
Lot to learn

Nice one Gaynorsl! I'm not too good with the ID of the Blue Damselflies but the Dragon is a female Broad Bodied Chaser.
In reply to Wildlife Endeavours :
Thanks WE it sure was a large specimen.
Excellent Damsel and Dragon. At a guess, the Damsel might be the blue form of a female Azure (most female Azures are green) ... but I have to say I'm really not sure so I wouldn't be too surprised if someone corrects me!
Stunning shots of the female Broad-bodied Chaser, Gaynor. I'm not sure of the blue damselfly but I'd go along with Nigel's ID of an Azure Damselfly. Anglesey must be milder than where I live down south as I've not seen much yet.
