Cracking B&W pics Nige
Thanks, Mike. Most of my landscapes seem to end up B&W now - hours of fun in Photoshop, which keeps me out of mischief!
I've taken to using B&W more, especially on dull or extremely sunny days using a polarising filter where the cloud is very prominent.

Third time lucky to get these shots of bearded tit/reedlings at Westhay Moor on the Somerset levels. Always hear them but rarely see them.
Excellent photos … but you're lucky to get such unobstructed views of Beardies at all, let alone after three attempts.
I'm normally the last person to find a Wheatear, as in recent years I haven't seen them until May, but my luck changed this year. There was some debate about this one, as the facial markings are strong, like a male, but the back colour definitely says female to me. It's very early for a female though, as they normally wait until the males are already here. Either way, they are always great company on hill walks.
I was thinking this is the sort of photo Paul would use in a quiz "Identify the bathing bird!"
"Each kindness shown to birds or men is sure to flutter back again"
Hazy: "As for the bathing beauty - no idea - pink footed goose lol !"
I can see where you are coming from, but sorry, no cigar. If you know what you're looking at you can just about see a slim beak in there. This is the beauty who was washing her hair so enthusiastically ...
Mr G. was also having a go
Getting prettied up for their summer hols I suspect.
