Mostly Moths 2018

  • In reply to WendyBartter:

Although quite common I've not had one yet this year, such a lovely moth. I hope you get some caterpillars for your efforts.

Never got any hatch from the last lot , wondered if I damaged them by moving to a more suitable place ... will leave these in situ scattered round the jar & see what happens!  Did look on shed door & she'd laid a few there too & maybe one single egg in the pot I moved her to!

Agree it is a very lovely moth, impressive when wings are open, looks like a small Hawk-moth, one of my favourites!

Mrs Angle Shades very reluctant to leave after being on trap overnight ... tickled her but wouldn't open wings (only to fly away!), no wonder she looks a bit grumpy in this face shot ... lovely tiara! Lol

Here's a face for you Wendy, Copper Underwing

Taken a couple of nights ago, but moth of the night was this gorgeous micro moth, new for me, Eupoecilia sanguisorbana, I had help from the insect forum to ID it as there are so few photos of it around,

So big tick for me! LOL
