A couple of weeks ago Limpy and I had a couple of nights away in Wales. It was well worth the drive from the Suffolk coast as we managed to arrive at the Cors Dyfi reserve just as they were ringing their osprey chicks! The place was buzzing with excitement as we entered and it turned out that proud parents Monty and Glesni had produced two girls this year. Glesni is three years old and has proven herself a magnificent first time mother. Naturally a few photos were taken:
In the last picture Monty is delivering a fish to the nest.
There were some lovely birds at the feeders too:
Hope you enjoy them.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Clare & Limpy -great report & pics of your visit to Wales - so interesting & exciting! You two have been around this year & seen fabulous things - good on ya!! Really wanted to get to Birdfair but not well enough for such a long drive - maybe next?
