Ive been having a play with haiku over the last couple of weeks (during a bout of man flu!) and I thought I'd throw a couple of my efforts out here for your perusal. For those unfamiliar with the format it's a non-rhyming 3-line poem with five, seven, five syllables. I love the challenge of creating a broad picture on such a narrow canvas.
desperate to breed
restart the cycle of life
urgency of spring

sun breaks horizon
grebe peers through mist on water
images of dawn

swept plume bandit mask
harvesting natures bounty
waxwing irruption
