I've always heard it as 'shepherds' rather than 'sailors' - but appropriate to both, of course.

Glad you're ok, Annette. We have rain and then snow coming in tonight. "Shepherd" is not a very common word here. Our midwest farms are far more likely to run cattle than sheep (beef cattle and dairy cows). We also have big hog operations in Indiana and lots of poultry.
