Hi Wendy thanks for posting this. I've been watching the cams on and off for a couple of weeks without success, but I've just logged in now and the female is perched outside the nestbox right now as I type!!

I have a particular interest in this as its my 'local' site half an hour's drive from my home, and I try to get over there at various points in the season. In fact when I worked in Sheffield I was up there every lunchtime. Can't wait for the action to begin.

Beautiful isnt she? She's gone now but she was there preening and generally looking magnificent for over half an hour.

Peregrines on TV TONIGHT - Thursday 4 Feb.

Barring some big breaking news story, there will be a feature on tonight’s BBC1 The One Show at 7pm about peregrines hunting at night presented by Mike Dilger and featuring Ed Drewitt.

Before Christmas Ed requested us to send the BBC some videos of our Derby Cathedral birds night hunting (eg the one in which a live woodcock is brought back to the tower after dark one winter’s night) but whether these will be used we don’t know.

It should be an interesting piece anyway…..

If you miss it you can usually see the programme on iplayer afterwards.
