It's lovely to watch this little guy eating from his favourite coconut.
The photo is taken from my kitchen window and he is regular visitor at this time of year, and enjoys pastry too. (I'm based in Birmingham UK)

Great photo. Lovely bird, quite feisty too. Have a female Blackcap that guards the 'Birdy Butter' and chases off any other bird that dares to come close:)
Fantastic, I'm glad you've got some too. hopefully a pair, I'm sad to say I've yet to see a female, but I haven't seen my male for almost 2 weeks, so maybe he's found one a few gardens away :-)
Hi Hexas, I've not seen a female yet, I hope this little guy manages to find a mate! He is very relaxed and cute, I got to see him having a little preen a couple of weeks ago. :-)

garden feeding blackcaps are invariably migrants. Yours will probably be in a different country now. They tend to be slightly larger, bulkier than UK breeding blackcaps. Very few blackcapsbreed in gardens.
Female blackcap still feeding daily, although now alternating between suet and sunflower hearts. They've been over wintering in this area for 20 years or so now, but this is the latest record I have of one staying. They usually leave mid- end March.

Had 4 (2 male/2 female) arrive mid December - usual arrival time. Males visited infrequently and saw last one seen end March. 2nd female was quite regular - but left mid March. This one seems content on staying.
