Easter Sunday at Lochwinnoch

So we decided on a wee visit to

Upon arrival was my collard dove that had just surprised me visiting the garden lol...never seen one before then felt like they were following me....Could hear chiffchaff a plenty !!!!..

Went upstairs to have a look in the viewing tower, all looked very grey and spoke to a lovely couple of RSPB guys before we headed outside....

Here's what we saw...

Black-headed Gulls

Not sure if this was courtship with the Geese

Greylag always look mean and miserable to me lol

Tuftys a plenty

Cormorant Island

It was getting a tad busy for my liking by now with it being Easter Sunday!

Last look and hey presto my 1st Little Ringed Plover

Good luck finding it lol

And a distant Buzzard to finish

And that was our wee visit to Lochwinnoch...really wanted to see Marsh Harrier but got Little Ringed Plover instead .

Just seen your Easter post looks like it was a little quiet there Linda but you did see a little ringed plover, and a dunnock and some grey lag geese, and a buzzard, and a few gulls and Canada geese, not forgetting the cormorants, and some tufted ducks so it wasn’t all bad, it looked a nice place and you met two nice guys from the RSPB so all in all you had a good day. Lol

I'm just catching up!!! I agree with ILR, looks like you had a great day out there and it certainly wasn't a waste!!! You saw some lovely birds, got to meet a couple of RSPB guys and were in a beautiful part of the country!!! (So what if it was a bit dreich!) Lol Thanks for sharing Linda

Thanks Tigerss....might be best to go back on a quieter sunny day...Easter Sunday was wrong day of choice for a birder like me...I like the peace and quiet not an easter egg hunt lol..as you say a dreich day it was lol
