Lovely shot kevin. I see very few around my way. The best one I ever saw was sat on a branch in clear view on a sunny day about 3 metres away, for a few minutes posing .... Yup, my camera was in the car ...

Thank you - I have been trying to get a half-decent photo of a Kingfisher for years. The camera in the car moment is the most frustrating thing. Hopefully, next time!

These are the last ones from my trip away. They are on the beach at the north end of Morecambe on my way to the Lakes. It was raining, and continued until I got home!

I like all/everyone's photos, it's great we can go out and take these images of birds and other animals.
Specially like the eye of the kingfisher though, and the one 'looking fed up in the rain' is spot on, and the ewe has a lovely smile. (why is she wearing two different coloured earings?)

There's probably a good reason, and other colour combos are available.

The ewe isn't smiling. She just has wind.

And now for something completely different...a coot rumble. Two pairs of coots having a discussion about territorial boundaries in Colebrook lake (south), Moor Green Lakes nature reserve.

I got lucky. Armed with my Canon 80D and Sigma 150-600m lens, these birds were about 30 yards away from me. Light conditions were reasonable.
