Did the Little Bittern nest and breed at Ham Wall during 2014?

Hi Ian,
I'm sorry to say that they failed to breed this year as far as we are aware. Plenty of surveying took place and we managed to record 4 barking male birds but unfortunately no evidence of any females or significant nesting behavior. The fact that there were 4 males must be a positive - the hope is that they will return this year and bring some females with them.
