Beginners' Birding November 2016

We would like to thank Terry for his inspirational and helpful guiding yesterday (15 November) on his Beginners' Birding walk. He gave us an approach to identifying birds which will help us enormously for our future forays. We are not regular birdwatchers, (except for the birds that visit our garden and seem to eat us out of house and home !) so his guidance has given us enthusiasm for the future. We will get to grips with "the book" ( he'll know which one !!) We were rather lucky with the birds we saw; starting off with a group of Bean Geese, and ending with a lovely barn owl quartering over the marshes, but we also saw snipe, and plenty of ducks and waders. Another highlight was a Little Egret who was feeding very close to the path, which was a joy to watch. We were also joined by Alan and his camera, and he provided more helpful insights and information, so thank you yo you both. Titchwell is special to us because it is where we first came across birdwatching, and joined the RSPB, and we have always found the people there friendly and helpful. we come some distance to be there, so we will look forward to our next visit next year ! See you then !
