I must make my apologies as it's now four weeks since I visited the beautiful reserve of Titchwell and I'm only posting some photos now! I saw these dear little moorhens near the visitor centre and I couldn't resist them.
After he disappeared into the reeds I happened to look down...........
Awwww!
Check out those feet! I'm going to go through my other birds now.
OK, here are a few more. Please don't hesitate to let me know when I mess up an ID as it's bound to happen!
Grey lag goose, with a youngster by its side?
The crowd enjoying a hot, sunny afternoon.
An adorable young avocet.
Lapwing.
Yes, I'm very handsome. There is no such thing as an ugly mute swan.
Bit of a wild guess here....is this a ruff?
Grey wagtail? It was moving like a wagtail. EDIT: Juvenile pied wagtail. Thanks, Aiki.
Synchronised Canada geese.
I'll guess (with book in hand) that the lovely reddish-fronted birds are black-tailed godwits.
Spoonbills - sometimes you don't need a book!
I don't know what the bird is with the beak in the water but I was very impressed with the tern's acrobatics!
I think this is a linnet.
Ruff? The other bird is definitely an avocet.
Curlew?
A very handsome oystercatcher.
The sheen on these birds is just stunning.
Those whopping feet tell me this could be a young moorhen.
I hope you all enjoy these.
A great selection, CLARE; thanks for sharing.
Thanks, OG!
What a bird-packed day :) Lovely photos. The wagtail's a juvenile Pied. I don't see any other ID things to query but I can't get the photo above the Linnet to display properly so can't help with that one - sorry!
Thanks, Aiki - I'll adjust the post.
What a wonderful day you had Clare, thanks for sharing it with us, quite a variety of birds :-)
