Now the breeding bird season is upon us, we've had to hold back on some of the habitat management work carried out on the reserve. Nonetheless the work our volunteers have put in over the winter months is certainly paying dividends now.

Over the last couple of weeks we have been contacted by members of the public, either in person or via electronic means, saying how good the reserve was looking at the moment. They went on to say they felt safer now because we had cleared away a great deal of debris and overhang from some of the pathways and there was an altogether lighter look around the reserve!

So from Lee and me, a big thank you to Paul Broomhead, Mike Ixer, Ken Wilcox, Jon Pollard, David Hobbs, Brian Dennis, Tony Millen, the OGG group (hedgelayers annonymous), Dave Nutting and apologies to anyone else I may have overlooked at this time of the day.

See you on the reserves,

Best regards,

Chris Edwards
